Dr. Ashok Gupta has 24 years of surgical experience in General & Vascular Surgery. He is one of the pioneers in the UAE, for using the Venaseal ( Bio glue ) FDA approved the system, for the minimally invasive treatment of varicose veins. He specialises in the treatment of ischaemic, non- healing chronic wounds, peripheral bypass surgeries, repair of aneurysms and pseudo aneurysms, AV access creations for haemodialysis. He also specialises in the diagnosis and management of patients, with deep venous thrombosis, by medication and invasive techniques.
He also experienced in the cath-lab based peripheral endovascular techniques, peripheral vessel angioplasty/stenting as well as stent grafting. He is trained in the use of vascular ultrasound, for the diagnosis of vascular diseases. Dr. Gupta got his medical degree in 1990, from the University of Delhi, in India.
His educational qualifications are MS FRCSE FRCS and Fellow of the International Medical Sciences Academy. He completed his surgical residency from the Tata Memorial Hospital, in Mumbai, India. This was followed by a three-year period of supervised vascular surgical training, under the Oxford and Birmingham rotations, between 1997 – 2000. He completed an overseas vascular fellowship from the Institute of Vascular Health and Disease, in Albany, Upstate New York, USA, IN 2003.
Dr. Ashok Gupta is a designated Cordis endovascular trainer in peripheral vascular interventions, since 2002. His current research interest is in the role of stem cells, in non-reconstructable peripheral arterial disease. He has authored and co-authored a number of papers in indexed, international journals.
